Compliance Statement

Compliance Statement

Compliance is foundational to our business. We have established robust systems and protocols to ensure that expert engagements are conducted ethically, legally, and in accordance with the highest professional standards. The Compliance Framework is used to supplement our contracts to ensure continuous legal adherence. The Compliance Framework applies to all experts who have signed the Academic Framework Agreement.

Academics:

To be eligible for engagements, Alcuin requires academics to sign, and annually re-sign, our compliance framework, agreeing that they:

  • Have reviewed relevant university or institutional agreements and are permitted to serve as independent experts;

  • Will decline any project that would violate their employment contract or obligations to third parties;

  • Will not provide confidential, including Material Non-Public Information or proprietary research, to clients;

  • Will keep client strategic interests and identity strictly confidential;

  • Will immediately terminate any engagement that moves into subject matters they cannot discuss.

Training:

Experts are required to review and complete Alcuin’s compliance framework before their first engagement and then annually thereafter. The framework goes into greater depth on how to comply with the terms in our contracts and can be accessed at any point.

Conflict Management:

Before every engagement, Alcuin may flag potential conflicts of interest but the academic is expected to have the requisite knowledge and is not restricted by current research grants, institutional IP filings, or advisory roles with direct competitors.

Once you have signed the Academic Framework Agreement you will be introduced to the full compliance framework.
